Accessibility statement

Anyone should be able to read a page on this Arlington Heights garage door website and reach us at (847) 440-3650.

The standard we aim for

We aim for the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 at level AA. That standard is a public document from the W3C, and it spells out how a webpage should behave for a reader working with a screen reader, a keyboard alone, a magnifier, captions or the reduced motion setting on their device. Level AA is the target most public-facing sites in the United States are held to. We do not claim we meet every part of it on every page today, and no sentence here will say so until a proper test can back the claim.

What we have already done

The site was built with these guidelines in mind from the first page out.

  • Pages use proper HTML headings, lists, buttons and links in reading order, rather than styled divs standing in for them.
  • Every page can be worked through with a keyboard alone. Focus is visible on the item you are on, and the tab order matches the reading order.
  • Body text sits on backgrounds chosen to hold the contrast ratio at or above the WCAG 2.2 AA thresholds, in both the light and dark theme.
  • Meaningful pictures carry a short text description in the alt attribute. Purely decorative shapes and background patterns are marked so a screen reader skips them without a word.
  • Motion is kept small, and each page honors the reduced motion setting on your device. With that setting turned on, animations stop.
  • The phone number appears as plain text on every page so a screen reader reads it as digits, and on a phone it also works as a tap-to-call link.

What we know still needs work

None known as of September 29, 2026. When you find something we have missed, call (847) 440-3650 and let us know, and it goes on this list until the fix ships.

How to report a problem

Call (847) 440-3650. Tell us the page you were on, what you were trying to do, and what got in the way. If a screen reader, a magnifier or another assistive tool was in play, name the tool as well. We work from the report, so the more detail the better.

When you can expect an answer

We reply to every accessibility report and say what will be fixed. A short fix goes in as soon as we can build it and post it. A larger fix goes on a written list with a target date, and we name that date when we get back to you.

Effective date

This accessibility statement takes effect on September 29, 2026. Any question about it goes to (847) 440-3650.
